Trash/Recycling
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS AND SCHEDULE:
Correct placement of containers for curbside collection, place at curb with wheels facing your home, keep containers four feet apart and at least four feet or more from any obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, power or street light posts. Best to put container out the night before collection day, that way you won’t miss pick up. If it hasn’t been collected at regular time, leave the container out until the end of the day, arrival time may change due to truck or employee shortage.
Once collection is completed remove the containers from the side of the street. To reduce odor, rinse your cart periodically and seal messy items securely in plastic bags.
If you have any issues, please call the Village of Simpson Office at 252-757-1430.
Village of Simpson DOES NOT pick up furniture, appliances, tires, hazardous waste materials, or construction items. The resident is responsible for disposal of these items at the dump on Avon Road (252-758-1372) or Port Terminal (252-758-0884).
